Today, technical decision makers in companies, whether large or small, try to find flexible ways to accelerate application development and ensure long-term scalability for their engineering teams. Configuring a solution like AWS requires a team of in-house experts, which is expensive and time consuming. In fact, over 77% of all tech companies across the board face DevOps challenges, including costs, risks, security, optimization of deployment pipelines, and scaling.

San Francisco-based Zeet, a platform that addresses DevOps challenges and accelerates application deployment for startups, has raised બીજ 2 million in a seed round of funding led by venture capital firm Race Capital. The company plans to use the funds, which also saw the participation of GGV Capital, Founders Inc. and multiple engineering leaders, to build its teams in areas ranging from engineering to marketing and to meet growing customer demand.

Founded in 2020 by Johnny Dallas and Xiao Zhang, Zeet seeks to overcome these obstacles through automation. The solution integrates with a cloud account and traditionally automates manual DevOps tasks, allowing the team to quickly move from code to a scalable application.

Automated DevOps deployment

To use the platform, the developer has to bring their code from the GitHub or Docker Hub repository to the Zeet platform. Once that is done, the solution analyzes the underlying source code and defines the elements needed for processing, including which codebase to use for development. After that, it automatically creates the application without the user having to combine CI tools like AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins and Travis CI together.

After this, the application can be transparently deployed in multiple clouds and configured for active monitoring using enterprise tools such as PagerDuty, Datadog or Dynatras.

“I want Zeet to be the ultimate DevOps and deployment platform. Our developers and companies use Zeet to deploy to any major cloud vendors, including AWS and GCP. We make it very easy to configure your cloud provider – be it AWS or GCP or otherwise, “Dallas told VentureBeat.

“This is a new decision on application deployment because our customers can gain deeper visibility into their infrastructure, rely on their setup and deployment process and maintain cloud costs. Restrictions were not imposed. With Deployment Zeet they get all the benefits of the infrastructure tool while using their own existing cloud platform, ”he added.

As Dallas explained, the solution has already been adopted by more than 17,000 developers and companies, with their team-centric product showing a 50% month-on-month growth in revenue over the past six months. Cofounder did not release exact revenue figures but confirmed that both startups and enterprise customers are driving growth.

Competitors

In the deployment tooling space, Zeet goes against players like HashiCorp, Netlify, Render.com and Heroku. However, Dallas claims that its platform differs from normal PaaS providers in that it allows customers to deploy to their own cloud provider.

“We don’t charge fast-growing margins, we work to reduce our customers’ costs,” he said. “Also, we do not ask our customers to trust us with their reliability, we show them why their setup is not broken and equip them with the tools to cope with downtime. For example, with the recent AWS outage, all Zeet customers were able to switch to another region (or entirely cloud provider) to avoid downtime. ”

Globally, tech companies around the world continue to invest heavily in cloud operations and internal tooling. According to Gartner, spending on public cloud services is expected to grow 23.1% to $ 332 billion in 2021, up from $ 270 billion in 2020. Meanwhile, total spending on cloud application services is expected to touch $ 122 billion in 2021 and $ 145 billion by 2022. .
