Omron Healthcare has launched its Remote Patient Monitoring Services in various regions around the world.

Hoffman Estates, the Illinois division of Omron, said it wants to expand digital health services for consumers and monitor the risks of heart disease and other illnesses. The company showed up at the tech trade show CES 2022 in Las Vegas.

Omron Healthcare is showcasing a mobile application that gives users coaches to understand and act on their data. The company has partnered with Kyoto University to research how AI can prevent cardiac events.

The online service can be integrated with Omron’s Connected Blood Pressure Monitor and mobile app so customers can support them wherever they are on a journey for heart health, the company said.

A range of remote patient monitoring services from Omron – VitalSite in the United States, Hypertension Plus in the UK and HeartVoice in Singapore – are designed to promote more active health status management, strengthen patient-physician engagement and guide behavior change. Reduces or eliminates the risk of heart attack and stroke.

“Omron started developing our remote patient monitoring services three years ago
The epidemic, “said Randy Kellogg, CEO of Omron Healthcare, in a statement. “These services flag immediate data for physicians and provide a lifeline for those facing the highest risk of hypertension.”

VitalSight from Omron takes advantage of the company’s remote blood pressure monitoring and personal heart health technology. The service is specifically designed for hypertension management and data sharing to improve treatment engagement and health outcomes.

According to the American Heart Association’s National Blood Pressure Guidelines, 116 million U.S.
Adults are in the hypertensive range, and the Center for Disease Control reports that 37 million of them have uncontrolled stage 2 hypertension, with an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

For those on the higher end of the hypertension scale, the risk during an epidemic is higher because the health care system is overcrowded in some areas. Hypertension is an underlying health condition that carries a higher risk of complications from COVID-19.

Doctors can provide patients with a kit that is delivered at home, including an omron-connected blood pressure monitor and a data hub that is preset to securely share measurements – digitally – with the patient’s physician and care team.

The VitalSight Data Hub does not require a Wi-Fi or cellular connection, which makes access to care intervals a factor for many patients. It uses secure connections to share patient data with the care team and provides information that doctors can use to modify treatment.

Jeffrey Ray, executive director of business and technology at Omron, said in a statement: “Physicians who have adopted VitalSite immediately are already telling us that they are gaining more insight into their patients and are taking note of measurable behavior changes for better heart health.” . “

VitalSight can be integrated with the physician’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system or via the VitalSight Dashboard for simple data analysis, which provides automated instructions to alert the physician and take action when the patient has readings.

Omron is partnering with hospital systems and independent physicians in the U.S., including Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, and physicians working to bridge health gaps in disadvantaged communities.

Omron Connect is available as a free download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Stores, and Omron’s service will be available through a paid subscription.
